Currency
The currency in India is the Rupee, which comes in denominations of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 500 and 1000. Please use authorized money changers and banks to change currency. They will issue a certificate of exchange which is required at the time of re-conversion of any unused currency. Under the Foreign Exchange Management Act 1999, it is an offence to exchange foreign currency other than through authorized money changer or banks.
Credit Cards
Most credit cards are accepted in India. However, it is best to pay cash in smaller shops, taxies/cab, etc.

Normally, Monday to Friday 10:00 to 14:00 hrs (cash transactions).

Open hours: Monday to Saturday 09:00 to 20:00hrs
Language
The official language of the Conference will be ENGLISH. There will be no simultaneous translation in conference session. Main languages spoken in Hyderabad are Telugu, Urdu and Hindi. English is widely spoken except in most rural areas.
Internet Access
The WiFi access is provided in all the workshops in IIIT-H and there will be cybercafe access is provided in HICC.
Transport
Taxi/Cab service is an easy way to travel around Hyderabad. All taxi/cabs use meters to record digitally to cost the journey. When using private hire taxis/cabs it is best to agree an approximate fare at the start of the journey. Insurance and Liability
The organizers do not take responsibility for any individual, medical, travel or personal insurance. Participants are advised to secure their own insurance policies before departure in their countries as necessary.
While every attempt is made to ensure efficient, trouble-free hospitality, including hotel accommodation, sightseeing and tours, participants are advised that no liability accrues to the organizers in case of any necessary modifications such as change in itineraries for tours due to delays or cancellations of flights/other exigencies beyond the organizers control.
Electricity
The voltage in India is 220 volts. Should you wish to use appliances of 110 volts, most Conference Hotels will provide adaptors on request, but it may be useful to carry your own for convenience.
Smoking Policy
All workshop and conference rooms are non-smoking areas.
Tips
There is no compulsion to tip anyone for any service rendered. If you choose to do so, the traditional tip is in the region of 10%.
Medical
IIIT-H as well as Novotel-HICC have their on local doctors to give medical cover. Participants can avail the service of general medical practitioners for any emergence requirements. Contact Mr. Vijay, Secretariat, PAKDD-2010, 98497-50410.
Emergency
Twin cities Hyderabad and Secunderabad is covered by Police Emergency No. 100. In addition, Andhra Pradesh Government has setup 911 equivalent service in US with the dial code 108. An ambulance along with full support normally reaches the spot of accident/medical emergency within 10 to 15 minutes anywhere in Hyderabad.
